WHAT’S HAPPENING AT CDS

Youth in grades K–8 participate in our year-round safe and engaging Out-of-School Programs at our sites in Philadelphia, PA. Many of our students return year after year to experience new opportunities, build lasting friendships, and continue to grow.

Families can feel confident knowing their children are in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. CDS staff are dedicated to building trusting relationships with every child and family, with a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning and personal development.

Our staff mentors students every step of the way, inspiring them to reach their highest potential. The CDS after-school curriculum is filled with fun, learning, and exciting new experiences designed to help every student thrive.

CDS WINTER BREAK DAY CAMP

Our Winter day camp will provide youth with a safe and engaging environment where they can strengthen their academic, social, and leadership skills. The program offers structure and support during the winter break.

We also provide a wide range of enriching activities, performing arts, career awareness exploration, life skills development, sports, and various educational workshops.

VISION

(CDS) Community Development Services envisions a future in which all youth and families in urban, at-risk communities have access to quality, equitable education and career opportunities. We believe this access helps reduce violence and feelings of hopelessness while strengthening confidence and improving overall quality of life in our communities.

WHAT WE DO

The CDS Community Learning Center provides academic, artistic, and cultural enrichment opportunities for students and their families during non-school hours, including before and after school, weekends, holidays, and summer recess. Our mission is to support students in improving academic achievement and meeting local and state standards in core subjects such as reading and mathematics by offering a safe and supportive learning environment, along with literacy tutoring, math tutoring, ESL support, and academic enrichment opportunities.
